USA Volunteers and Patanatic Volunteer unify efforts to support the access to education and health program!

Here is the October up date!

Twenty seven volunteers from Ohio visited Patantic. The team unified efforts with another fourteen local volunteers. Together they continued providing access to education, health, dental care, neonatal care and community development!

Leaders of Patanatic, staff of the Centro Educativo y Salud Patantic (CESP), ACONANI and Woodland recognize the tremendous support of the Ohio team! We appreciate all teh great efforts thank you!

Cooking stoves and beds project.

The Ohio volunteer team was able to provide eight cooking stoves and seven beds to families of Patanatic.
The cooking stoves minimized the use of fire wood up to 85%, eliminated the amount of smoke inside the kitchen, and promoted safe sanitation conditions in their homes. USA volunteers and Patanatic leaders worked together to assemble the cooking stoves and beds.  Patanatic leaders were trained in how to assemble the cooking stoves, cleaning, using, and mantenance.
The families who benefited from the cooking stoves and beds were identified by the Nurses and Patanatic leaders. This project targeted the families of Patanatic which suffer from respiratorial infections, asthma, and families that do not have the capacity to obtain these resources.

Acces to dental, neonatal care and education

Five dentists from the Ohio team were able to provide dental care to 180 students of the Elementary School of Patanatic and San Luis Patanatic plus the Patanatic middle school.

The medical team was able to provide medical check- ups to eighteen babies of Patanatic which were born in 2012  and  all twenty two of the 2011 babies.  The medical team also provided medical care to the pre kindergarten students.

Eighteen students in 5th and 6th grade students also received sewing training and learned how to make  gowns for the clinic patients.
